Archos brought its first 7-inch Android tablet with hardware gaming controls, dubbed GamePad, a year ago and now the company has revealed its second-generation GamePad in a brief post on a retail website.

Archos GamePad 2 comes with a 7-inch display just like its predecessor, but the resolution has been increased from 1024 x 600 pixels to 1280 x 800 pixels. Read more »

The original Angry Birds Star Wars hit the app stores last year in November and came as a breath of fresh air. Although an Angry Birds game at heart, the game featured brand new birds modeled after Star Wars characters and had their own unique new powers that made the game more exciting than what you’d expect from an Angry Birds game.

Now, Rovio is back with a sequel, with the aptly named Angry Birds Star Wars II that is based on the prequel trilogy of Star Wars movies, and once again features several new characters and environments in dozens of new levels. Valve’s Steam Box gaming console has been rumored for awhile now, but it seems the company is finally ready to take the wraps off and give us a good look at it. A teaser page has gone up on their site with a clock that counts down to Monday next week.

Already the fastest-selling video game in the world, Grand Theft Auto V reached yet another milestone today. The Rockstar Games creation made it past $1 billion in worldwide sales only three days after hitting the retail shelves.

GTA V’s publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. reckons that the video game title is the fastest entertainment property to reach the ten-digit milestone. Read more »

A few hours ago Rovio released the Angry Birds Star Wars II into the Android’s Play Store, Apple’s AppStore and Windows Phone Store. The games costs 99c, but you can have it for free on Android if you opt for the ad-supported version.

Gameloft has officially announced the GT Racing 2: The Real Car Experience racing game. The successor of the popular GT Racing is developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz.

The third and final installment in the popular Infinity Blade series of games has finally arrived on the App Store. The game was announced and demoed at last week’s Apple keynote running on the new iPhone 5s but you can now try it out for yourself on your existing iOS devices.

Infinity Blade III is the conclusion of the story that began with the original game. The basic gameplay remains the same, where you swipe on the screen at key moments to attack or defend, a gameplay mechanic introduced by the original Infinity Blade and then borrowed by countless others over time. The franchise of EA Sports FIFA has been one of the most exciting games on all the platforms. EA Sports has officially released its latest edition of the game, the FIFA 14 for all iOS devices. The company has unveiled its newest game on the App Store meant for New Zealand region and for the first time, the game is available on the mobile platform well before its launch on PC’s and other consoles.

Gameloft announced on Twitter that their popular new racing game, Asphalt 8: Airborne, will go free on iOS over the weekend. The game is usually priced at $0.99 on both the App Store as well as the Play Store.

Airborne is the latest in the long line of Asphalt games for mobile devices. We reviewed the game recently but were less than blown away by it, due to the aggressive difficulty, expensive IAP options and performance issues on Android. It is still a decent game overall for the price and now that it is being made available for free on iOS, it’s definitely worth a download. Read more »

At today’s iPhone launch event, Epic Games took the wraps off Infinity Blade III. The third and final installment of the popular iOS gaming franchise will launch alongside the iPhone 5s – it will be available in the App Store on September 18.

Infinity Blade III will make good use of the brand new A7 processor of the iPhone 5s with 64-bit architecture and OpenGL ES 3.0 support. Read more »

Sony has announced a new device for the Japanese market called the PlayStation Vita TV. Based on the PlayStation Vita’s hardware, the Vita TV is a tiny device that plugs into your TV and lets you play games and multimedia content.

The PlayStation Vita TV has basically the same hardware as the Vita, which enables it to play not just Vita games but also PSP and PSOne titles from the PlayStation Store. The PlayStation Vita TV comes with a single DualShock 3 controller to enable you to play games on your TV. Read more »

Sony has just announced the second generation model of its handheld gaming console, the PlayStation Vita, at the SCE Japan press conference. The new model is said to be 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than the previous generation Vita.

Along with the reduction in size and weight, Sony has also swapped the OLED display in the previous model with an LCD on the new one. But despite these changes, the new Vita will have a longer battery life of six hours, compared to five on the previous one. Read more »
