by 14 comments

Hitman GO is a brand new game for the iOS platform that shares almost nothing with the other Hitman games. Let’s see what that is like. Read more »

Nokia XL hands-on

by 65 comments

Another member of the Nokia X family decided to pay our office a visit. The Nokia XL is the largest Android-powered member of the recently announced X-family of phones. Think of it as a grown-up Nokia X, as it packs a 5″ IPS LCD display of the same WVGA resolution as its smaller brother.

The Nokia XL features the same build materials and design as its smaller brother, but it’s notably heavier as you could expect. It weighs the rather hard to bare 190 grams and gives an almost tank-like impression. It really takes away portability points, though. Read more »

‘Impossible Road’ for iOS and Android game review

by 48 comments

Impossible Road is a very minimal arcade game with really tough gameplay, similar to games like Super Hexagon, Flappy Bird and Pivvot, that are easy to play but ridiculously hard to master. The game was released on iOS last year and received a positive response from gamers.

The developers have now released the game on Android so we thought we’ll finally take it for a spin and see how it plays. Read more »

Nokia X is running on a very-low powered Snapdragon S4 Play chipset with a dual-core Cortex-A5 processor, but it comes with a rather modest by today’s standards 1,500 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S5 battery life test

by 138 comments

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is bound to become one of the hottest selling handsets and so it must undergo heavy scrutiny. Battery life is an everyday worry, especially with bigger screens and faster chipsets.

The Galaxy S5 screen isn’t much bigger than that of its processor (5.1″ vs. 5″), but it is brighter. The Snapdragon 801 chipset should also offer a big performance boost over the Snapdragon 600 of last year. Read more »

Sony MDR-10RBT wireless over-ear Bluetooth headphones review

by 28 comments

The Sony MDR-10RBT are Sony’s mid-range wireless Bluetooth headphones. Although they lack the noise cancelling feature from some of Sony’s more expensive models, they do include some niceties such as NFC connectivity and aptX support, not to mention a friendlier price.

We decided to give them a try and see what they sound like. Read more »

Nokia X synthetic benchmarks

by 82 comments

Here is another teaser for our upcoming Nokia X review – benchmark scores! We were able to make some tests shortly after the Nokia X was announced on the MWC in Barcelona, but this time around we can finally run all benchmarks on a retail-ready unit.

The Nokia X is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Cortex-A5 processor coupled with half a gig RAM, which should be barely enough to run a standard Android Jelly Bean version. Luckily Nokia has done some great work optimizing the Android OS and its proprietary launcher, so the final OS is relatively smooth and snappy, with almost no visible lag. The apps from the Nokia Store run great too. Read more »

This is not a joke! Nokia X has just arrived at HQ and joined our review queue. The Finns’ first Android-based handset running on the so-called Nokia X Software Platform is quite interesting indeed, so naturally we gave it our traditional hands-on treatment.

by 22 comments

The FabricSkin Keyboard Folio for iPad Air sits on top of Logitech’s range of cases designed for Apple’s slate. The cover combines a Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard and magnetic cover in a lightweight, solidly-built package.

Founded in Apples, Switzerland more than thirty years ago, Logitech is a leader on the market for computer peripherals and mobile accessories. The company’s products are synonymous with superior design and ergonomics, so I have nothing but high expectations towards its iPad Air case. Read more »

‘Surgeon Simulator’ for iPad game review

by 5 comments

Surgeon Simulator for iPad is a port of the popular game that was released on Steam last year. Although the game claims to be a simulator, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. The game had you performing hilarious operations on an unsuspecting patient in ways that would send an actual surgeon or patient reeling in horror.

Now the same game has been ported over completely to the iPad, which is the only platform right now other than the desktop PC to have the game. We picked up our scalpel and decided to get our hands dirty before Bob’s anesthesia wore off. Read more »
