Less than 24 hours ago, we spotted the Asus ZenWatch getting listed in the Google Play Store. Back then, however, the smartwatch was only said to be “coming soon”, and you couldn’t order it.

That’s all changed now. Google has officially announced that Asus’ first Android Wear-based smartwatch is up for grabs, both in the Play Store and at Best Buy. Read more »

If you’re into round Android Wear-based smartwatches, T-Mobile has a couple of things to tell you. The magenta carrier has today announced that it will begin selling the round LG G Watch R on November 19, which is next Wednesday.

And it’s also revealed that the Moto 360 is now available to purchase from its website. The in-store launch for Motorola’s watch will happen on November 19 too. Read more »

As the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge starts selling around the world, more and more of you will be considering owning the curved-screen phone. The company understands that most customers will have their doubts before purchasing it and addressed them in a lengthy blog post.

Samsung reveals that one of the major fears among potential customers is that the curved display will easily crack upon dropping the phone and assures that it had conducted more than 1,000 drop tests. They all were designed to simulate the different angles the phone may be dropped and the results show the phone is quite durable. A large part of the reason why is the phone’s metal frame. The Nvidia Shiled tablet is getting Android 5.0 Lollipop by the end of the month, we knew that much. But now we know the date – Nvidia has announced it will be rolling out the “simple software upgrade” on November 18.

Aside from Material Design and the new Android Runtime as default the Shield tablet will get an upgraded Dabbler 2.0 studio with layer support and sharing/streaming features, Shield Hub, Nvidia Grid and new games like Half-Life 2:Episode one. Read more »

We recently saw a video of Sony Xperia Z1, Z2, and Z3 running on AOSP build of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Sony has now released the source code and binaries, along with instructions that will let you run it on your Xperia device.

To be clear, all of this is intended for developers who want to build custom ROMs based on the AOSP build for these Xperia devices. This isn’t an actual ROM that you can just flash on to your device. Read more »

NVIDIA’s Shield portables can stream a game from your computer, but they will soon gain the ability to stream from NVIDIA’s computers – support for the Grid gaming service will arrive as part of the Lollipop upgrade. The service runs the game in the cloud and streams 720p@60fps footage to the Shield, with very low latency (so the company promises).

“State-of-the-art NVIDIA GPU servers” will handle the rendering on the cloud part. Read more »

The earnest team over at CyanogenMod have churned out another snapshot of the CM11 ROM. M12 doesn’t add new features, but instead focuses on bringing CyanogenMod 11 closer to a stable build and patching the POODLE vulnerability in SSLv3.

While CyanogenMod 11 is still only Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the CM team has some news concerning Android 5.0 Lollipop as well. The team started work on a Lollipop update a week ago and expects its nightly CyanogenMod 12 builds to arrive between the end of this month and the beginning of the next one. Read more »

The YouTube app for iOS and Android has been updated with a new music homepage, which feeds you an endless YouTube Mix based on your favorite music videos.

The new section also contains recommended music playlists based on what you’re into and playlists of trending music across YouTube. Read more »

Samsung has announced a new technology called Flow. Well, new would be a bit misleading since it is similar to Continuity that Apple launched with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite.

Flow has three basic features. The Transfer feature lets you push content between your Samsung devices. You can send a document or a web page from your phone to your tablet, start navigating on your phone and then push it to your Gear S, start watching a movie on a tablet and then push it to your Samsung television, etc. You can also start a video call on one device and then continue it on another. Google has updated two more apps for Android. This time we’re talking about the search app which is simply called Google, as well as Google Keyboard.

Android Wear has gotten an update or two so far since its official unveiling a few months back, but those only brought with them minor new features. That said, it looks like the Lollipop update for Google’s wearable platform will come with many new things, and they’ve all been detailed in a comprehensive leak.

Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop for phones and tablets is ready to start appearing in over-the-air updates near you, we assume Android Wear will be the next focus for Google – namely, getting it updated to Lollipop. Read more »

We recently reviewed the Meizu MX4 and concluded it has stellar battery performance so now it’s time to shed some more light on it.

The Meizu MX4 was able to squeeze 89 hours of endurance from its 3,100mAh battery – that’s the time you can go without a charge if you do an hour of calling, browsing and watching video on your phone. The Hands-free feature available in the Motorola Moto X, which reads out loud your notifications, is most probably coming to the Nexus series with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Apparently some users have found the Hands-free option in their Settings menu right after updating to Lollipop, only to disappear as soon as you close the menu. Read more »
