Cyanogen is outing a new software update for the OnePlus One. The rollout of build 44S of CyanogenMod 11S for the phone is starting today. As usual in these cases, however, it might be a few days before it reaches all devices out there.

Apple’s apparently got a problem on its hands regarding its two latest smartphones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. And no, it’s not #bendgate. According to rumors out of South Korea, a type of flash storage is causing the company some headaches in two models of the new iPhones.

You’ll need to pay a $50 premium for the metal, however. Whereas the leather 360 costs $249, the metal models retail for $299. Right now you can order either a light or dark Moto 360 with matching metal band from Motorola’s own website. Read more »
According to the latest rumors out of China, Xiaomi has a new product in the pipeline, though this isn’t a smartphone as you may expect. Apparently the company wants to get into the action cam market, for whatever reason.
Not convinced to stop experimenting by its less than stellar Fire phone sales, Amazon has introduced a new product today. It’s called Echo, and it’s a Bluetooth speaker, which also packs Siri, Google Now, or Cortana-like personal assistant functionality.
That’s definitely a combo no one’s ever tried before, though we may soon find out that there might have been a reason for that. Anyway, you can’t say Amazon isn’t trying to come up with new product categories. Read more »

If you were wondering what the first non-Nexus device to get the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop would be, we might have the answer today. The company best known for its graphics processors has published a video on YouTube in which it teases the upcoming update. The rollout time frame of “November” is mentioned quite a few times, so we’re assuming Nvidia’s engineers are pretty sure they’ll be able to pull it off. Read more »
