Samsung Galaxy Alpha, the slimmest Galaxy phone to date, went official today. Most of the rumors throughout the past few months turned out correct – the metal-framed Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7″ Super AMOLED 720p display, runs on Exynos 5 Octa chipset with 2GB of RAM, and comes with a 12MP rear camera.

Sony’s SmartBand SWR10 is what you’d call a life logger, a fashionable band, a music/camera remote, and vibrates on notifications. It collects motion data and logs everything within a dedicated app on your Android smartphone.
Despite what the product name may have you believe, the Sony SmartBand is not meant to be a smart personal assistant. It’s an unobtrusive device with exchangeable wrist bands to match your style and blend seamlessly with any other accessories you might have.

Samsung has published two new videos advertising the recently released Galaxy Tab S flagship slates. The first one demonstrates the Tab S multi-tasking capabilities and compares them to…an iPad, of course.

Microsoft’s latest Surface Pro 3 slate has been plagued by some serious Wi-Fi connectivity issues since its release a few weeks ago. The early adopters hoped Microsoft will resolve their issues with an upcoming update, and as it turns out they’ll only have to wait a few more days.
There is already an update rolling out for the Surface Pro 3 focusing on “Wireless network controller and Bluetooth”, but unfortunately it doesn’t fix the Wi-Fi connectivity problems. Read more »
South Korean’s Fair Trade Commission has ordered Apple and Google to establish proper and user-friendly refund policies for the AppStore and the Play Store. This decision will probably impact many other regions as well.
The only way to get your money back from an AppStore purchase was through contacting Apple directly and opening a case. Google on the other hand allows you a full refund for an app within 15 minutes of purchase, but after that contacting Google through the proper channels is the only way. Read more »
OnePlus One will be updated with a CyanogenMod ROM based on Android L. This will happen in three months after Google launches the final Android L build in the Fall.

Google is seeding the first firmware update for the Android Wear-powered smartwatches. Naturally, the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch are now getting it over-the-air.
The update contains critical bug fixes, including to the issues with inverted colors and dimming displays. Read more »
Motorola’s upcoming and highly anticipated smartwatch may cost twice as much as its Android Wear-powered Samsung Galaxy Gear competitor.
A Chinese retailer has already listed the Moto 360 for pre-order. It costs CNY 2,800 or about €330, which is almost twice the Samsung Gear Live price in the country of CNY 1,500 or €175. Read more »

Samsung Gear Live is the company’s first smartwatch based on Android Wear OS. It is available via the Google Play Store and will ship on July 11.

The full list of markets to get the Gear Live includes Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States.
