Sony to push 2.50 system update for PlayStation 4 tomorrow

Sony promised several interesting features at the launch of the PlayStation 4 gaming console but not all of them were available out of the box. But now the company plans to correct that by rolling out the 2.50 system update for the PlayStation 4 gaming console.

The new PS4 2.50 system packs several new features and enhancements like the option to Suspend/Resume the games by using the PS button. Quite a nifty feature to switch from Rest mode and then continue enjoying the game where you left off. Read more »

Delhi Government asks IT Ministry to block Uber, Ola mobile apps

Yesterday, Uber sent out a promotional email to its loyal customers for bringing more users on-board the Uber app. In return, those users will be rewarded with Uber Credits that can be used to pay for a ride. The promotion was launched in all major cities of India.

In the mean time, Delhi government sent out instructions to the IT Ministry to blocking the popular taxi- hiring app services – Uber and Ola in Delhi. Read more »

Xiaomi launches 40-inch Full HD Mi TV 2 for $320

Xiaomi has announced a new 40-inch model as part of its Mi TV 2 line-up. As the younger kin of the 49-inch Mi TV 2 with 4K video support, the new 40-inch Mi TV 2 model is more of an affordable full HD version. Xiaomi’s new 40-inch Mi TV 2 will be available on March 31 from Xiaomi website.

The new Mi TV 2 model features a 40-inch SHARP SDP X-GEN display panel with full HD pixel resolution and LED backlight mode with 5000:1 contrast ratio. Read more »

Google is pushing on-body detection smart lock for Android

Google updated the Play Services quietly to add a couple of new security options. Smart Lock got new Trusted Places along with the existing Trusted Faces. To take the Smart Lock further, Google is now rolling out an “on-body detection” feature in the Smart Lock mode.

The idea is to let your phone detect its proximity to you in order to save itself and your data from being stolen. The new on-body protection feature uses the accelerometer to estimate whether you’re holding the device or it is in your pocket. Read more »

Facebook testing a Phone app to take on Truecaller

Facebook’s strategy for the mobile apps is full of surprises. With free Voice Calls in the Messenger app, the company decided to compete with the likes of Skype. Now it is testing out a diaper app called Phone to compete with the likes of Truecaller.

Microsoft is working hard on the much anticipated launch of the Windows 10 operating system. The software giant has announced it will make Windows 10 available across 190 countries and in 111 different languages. No specific date has been revealed yet, though.

With over 1.5 billion users around the globe, Microsoft aims to make Windows 10 a desirable upgrade. That’s helped by the fact that existing users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows Phone 8.1 will receive a free upgrade to Windows 10 OS for a uniform seamless experience across devices. Apple to debut online TV streaming service with 25 channels

Apple recently slashed the price of the Apple TV to $69 and also announced the HBO Now streaming service is landing on its platform. Now we learn that Apple has been in talks with big broadcasting companies to launch a subscription-based online TV streaming service, as reported by the WSJ.
