Microsoft launches a Bluetooth-powered Universal Foldable Keyboard

Microsoft has launched a new Universal Foldable Keyboard powered by Bluetooth at the Mobile World Congress 2015 today. This lightweight keyboard is slim offers flat keys laid out in five rows but no function keys.

However, the multimedia control keys are placed on the top row. The software-giant has enabled this Universal Foldable Keybaord to work seamelessly with iOS, Android, and Windows platform based smartphones and tablets. Read more »

Kyocera to show a solar charging smartphone prototype at MWC 2015

Kyocera has announced to show a working prototype smartphone with solar charging capability at the Mobile World Congress 2015 next week. This prototype is basically last year’s TORQUE smartphone.

The TORQUE KC-701 smartphone prototype is rugged and design reflects the original TORQUE SKT01 model. Kyocera has used a French company SunPartner Technologies’ Wysips Crystal panel to enable solar charging on the phone. Read more »

Leica has collaborated with Lenny Kravitz to introduce a special limited edition luxury professional camera kit – M-P ‘Correspondent’ camera. Packing two Leica lenses, Leica and Kravitz Design will sell only 125 special edition kits at $24,500 each.

Google to launch new Chromebook Pixel soon

Google may be aggressively following the annual update cycle of Android platform but same isn’t the case with its ambitious Chromebook Pixel project. Renee Niemi, Director of Android & Chrome for Work and Education at Google, inadvertently confirmed that a new Chromebook Pixel laptop is expected to release soon.

Uber partners with SafetiPin mobile app to launch safety pilot in India

Uber has announced a partnership with a map-based mobile safety app – SafetiPin to focus on the passenger safety and launch a pilot project starting February 25 and will stretch for 5 months in New Delhi, India

Mobile security app SafetiPin’s trained security auditors will work with Uber designated partner-drivers to capture night conditions with camera phones mounted on vehicles. These security auditors will also collect location data based on nine parameters – openness, visibility, luminance, walk path, crowd, security, gender diversity and location density, to derive the safety score. iBall tops the Indian tablet market, Samsung slips to second: IDC report

Samsung has slipped to second place in the tablet segment of the Indian market and the local company – iBall rose to the top position. According to the research firm IDC, iBall climbed to the top with triple the market share in the Q4 2014 when compared to that in the previous year.

In the Q4 2013, iBall had only 4.5% tablet market share which rose to 15.6% in Q4 2014. On the other hand, Samsung’s market share dropped from 17.9% in Q4 2013 to 12.9% in Q 4 2014. Samsung lost the battle to iBall on the ground of variety and cost of the tablets. Read more »

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 expected to get Android 5.0 Lollipop update by April

Samsung has commenced the roll out of the Android 5.0 Lollipop version updates for its Galaxy smartphones across the globe. Recently, Galaxy Tab S 8.4 with Lollipop update was pictured as well.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is testing the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for its premium Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet with large Super AMOLED display. This update is expected to arrive either in March or April. Read more »
