The Opera team has a long history of trying to improve the experience on less capable phones and its latest target was the poor file downloading experience on J2ME and BlackBerry phones.
The developers updated Opera Mini to version 7.1, which has a brand new download manager.
We are still quite a way from the launch of BlackBerry 10 devices but recently RIM CEO Thorsten Heins was spotted with one of them in public.
At a Lakers game a few days ago, both Thorsten Heins and RIM Senior Vice President, Software Product Management Andrew Bocking were spotted using BB10 phones and taking pictures with them. You can see that the phone Heins is using has the usual BlackBerry sticker on the back that they reserve for test devices but it’s strange seeing the CEO of the company in public using devices that are yet to be announced publicly.
Firefox for Android has so far been exclusive to device running on ARMv7 processors but this limited it to mostly recent, high-end device. However, with the latest update, Mozilla has expanded the number of devices that can now support Firefox.
Firefox for Android can now be installed on devices with ARMv6 processors, which includes phones such as HTC Status, HTC ChaCha, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Motorola Fire XT and LG Optimus Q. Considering almost half of the 500 million Android devices out there are running on ARMv6 processors, this means a vast number of people can now install Firefox on their Android smartphones.
The Google Nexus 4 is the latest smartphone to star in a drop test, falling hard from at least five feet on pavement.

At the 2012 Embedded Technology Conference and Exhibition (ET), Imagination has announced its latest member of the Series6 “Rogue” family of GPUs – the PowerVR G6630.
The G6630 features one core containing six shading clusters, which according to Imagination delivers “blisteringly fast GPU compute capabilities”.
Back when the iPhone 5 was released, one of the complaints was about the camera, specifically the purple tinting that was observed in some of the photographs. But if you thought this only happens on the iPhone 5′s camera, you are in for a surprise.
