Opera adds resumable downloads for J2ME and BlackBerry phones with Opera Mini 7.1

The Opera team has a long history of trying to improve the experience on less capable phones and its latest target was the poor file downloading experience on J2ME and BlackBerry phones.

RIM CEO Thorsten Heins spotted at NBA game with upcoming BB10 devices

We are still quite a way from the launch of BlackBerry 10 devices but recently RIM CEO Thorsten Heins was spotted with one of them in public.

At a Lakers game a few days ago, both Thorsten Heins and RIM Senior Vice President, Software Product Management Andrew Bocking were spotted using BB10 phones and taking pictures with them. You can see that the phone Heins is using has the usual BlackBerry sticker on the back that they reserve for test devices but it’s strange seeing the CEO of the company in public using devices that are yet to be announced publicly. Firefox for Android adds support for ARMv6 based devices

Firefox for Android has so far been exclusive to device running on ARMv7 processors but this limited it to mostly recent, high-end device. However, with the latest update, Mozilla has expanded the number of devices that can now support Firefox.

Firefox for Android can now be installed on devices with ARMv6 processors, which includes phones such as HTC Status, HTC ChaCha, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Motorola Fire XT and LG Optimus Q. Considering almost half of the 500 million Android devices out there are running on ARMv6 processors, this means a vast number of people can now install Firefox on their Android smartphones. ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ for iOS and Android game review

Wreck-It Ralph is an arcade game based on a movie of the same name, which released last month. The game is made by Disney, who have so far given us a bunch of mobile games, the most popular among them being ‘Where’s My Water?’ and ‘Where’s My Perry?’

Nexus 10 goes on pre-order at Staples, taken apart elsewhere

The Nexus 10 stock at the Play Store was depleted pretty quickly when it launched, so it’s good to see the 10-inch Google tablet moving to other stores. Staples have it on pre-order right now, but unfortunately won’t start deliveries until two-to-three weeks.

Nexus 4 gets a teardown

Now that the Nexus 4 has finally been released, it will go through the same motions as every other recent major device. There will be the drop tests, torture tests and the infamous “Will it blend?” tests later, but for now we have the iFixit teardown to kick things off.

Imagination announces PowerVR G6630 mobile GPU, says its 60x faster than previous gen PowerVR GPUs

Nexus 4 camera exhibits purple tint, just like pretty much any other camera

Back when the iPhone 5 was released, one of the complaints was about the camera, specifically the purple tinting that was observed in some of the photographs. But if you thought this only happens on the iPhone 5′s camera, you are in for a surprise.

The image above is part of a panorama shot through the camera on the Nexus 4 and as you can clearly see, there is purple flaring where the bright light source enters the image. Read more »
