Apple releases two new iPhone ads, Discover and Brilliant

Apple has released two new TV ads for the iPhone, called Discover and Brilliant. Both the ads follow the same theme as the iPad ads that we saw a few weeks ago.

Angry Birds passes 1.7 billion downloads, cartoons to debut on March 16

Angry Birds has been one of the most popular games of the mobile age, with each title in the series becoming an instant hit across the platforms it’s available on. The company has now given itself a well deserved pat on the back as the different titles available on multiple platforms have already been downloaded a whooping 1.7 billion times.

More importantly, Rovio has announced the new series of Angry Birds cartoons, which will debut on March 16. The first season will contain 52 episodes and the show will be telecasted on Saturdays. Read more »

Opel unveils the Adam Siri Eyes Free edition with deep integration for Apple’s personal assistant

Opel (a.k.a Vauxhall) has announced the Adam Siri, a special edition that boasts Siri Eyes Free technology allowing it to pair with Apple’s personal assistant.

Updated Apple TV brings an even smaller die-shrunk A5 processor

Earlier this year, we learnt that Apple has been quietly working on an updated version of the Apple TV. The difference? The processor got bumped from the A5 in the third generation mode to an A5X. Or at least, that’s what everyone thought.

Turns out, however, that is not the case. Mac Rumors got their hands on a production device of this new tweaked Apple TV that has just hit the retail stores and decided to take it apart. And much to their surprise, it is still running an A5 chip, albeit a much smaller one. Read more »

‘Temple Run: Oz’ for iOS and Android game review

The original Temple Run hit iOS back in 2011. The game was an instant success, reaching the top of charts around the world. It arrived on the Play Store last year and saw similar response from Android users as well.

It was also last year when Imangi released Temple Run: Brave, a variation of the original game made in collaboration with Disney for their movie ‘Brave’. It featured a new character and different level design but was essentially the old game in a new wrapper. But earlier this year, Imangi released Temple Run 2 that brought with it completely redesigned visuals and some new gameplay mechanics.

Now, shortly after the release of Temple Run 2, the developers have released Temple Run: Oz. Like Temple Run: Brave before it, Temple Run: Oz is based on an upcoming Disney movie, ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ and carries forward the visual and gameplay enhancements from Temple Run 2 but with new level designs keeping with the theme of the movie. Samsung exec disparages Windows 8, says it’s no better than Windows Vista

Ever since its launch, Windows 8 hasn’t exactly seen an overwhelmingly positive response, with many criticizing the new direction Microsoft took with the UI design of the OS. We have even seen companies like Acer, ASUS and Fujitsu bemoan the lack of demand for Windows 8 products.

NVIDIA gives a sneak peak at the upcoming Riptide GP 2 optimized for Project SHIELD

The original Riptide GP released two years ago was one of the first games to be optimized for NVIDIA’s Tegra series of mobile GPU. The game featured advanced visual effects, such as water splashes and motion blur that were exclusive to devices running Tegra processors.

Now, NVIDIA and Vector Unit have announced a sequel to this jet-ski racer, called Riptide GP 2 and it will be optimized for the upcoming Project SHIELD running the Tegra 4 processor. Read more »
