12-inch Apple MacBook Air rumored to enter production in early 2015

Apple’s MacBook Air line of laptops currently comprises of devices with just two screen sizes – 11″ and 13″. However, they may soon be joined by an intermediary model, a MacBook Air with a 12-inch screen.

This has previously been rumored to enter production in the fall of 2014, which obviously hasn’t happened. Now though, a new rumor out of Asia says that we should expect factories to start making the 12-inch notebook in the first quarter of next year. Read more »

A few days ago we let you know that you could buy a Motorola Droid Turbo from Verizon for $99.99 with a new two-year contract. That’s half off its normal price of $199.99, but now Best Buy has gone ahead and made that deal look pretty bad.

Asus ZenWatch arrives in the UK one day early

Having already made its way to the USA, the Asus ZenWatch was supposed to finally make its debut in the UK tomorrow. But, for whatever reason, the wearable was launched one day early, as you can already buy one today.

Like we told you before, for now the ZenWatch is exclusive to Currys PC World. So you can only purchase one from those two outlets. The situation may change in the future, of course. Read more »

WhatsApp soon to offer voice calls

The possibility of VoIP functionality in WhatsApp has been floating around in the rumor mill for quite some time now. While it has never been officially confirmed, little bits and pieces have been popping out here and there.

Recently a few interesting screenshots have surfaced, showcasing the popular chat application adorned with shiny new voice features.

While the functionality is still not available and probably not even fully complete, Android enthusiasts have managed to dig up a glimpse of what it may look like.

As it turns out, the Android version of WhatsApp exists in two main build branches, One stable branch, which can be found on the Play Store and which almost everybody has on their devices and another one, distributed directly off of the company’s website. Read more »

New Lumia Moments app lets you extract Living Images from videos

Microsoft has released a new application that lets you extract great stills from your videos or Moment shots (4K or FullHD). Dubbed Lumia Moments, the app is available on select Lumia devices, including Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon, and 1520, as part of the recent Lumia Denim update.

The app provides a Best Frame option that lets you find pictures and save them as Living Images — photos that contain a brief moment of video, so they seem alive when you browse them in Camera Roll or Lumia Storyteller. There is also an Action Shot feature that lets you add a strobe effect to show action or add blur to emphasize motion. Read more »

LTE LG G Pad 8.0 now available in South Korea

The mid-range tablet offering by tech giant LG was released to select markets a few months ago. But it seems that it is only now reaching the local market. The G Pad 8.0 is now available in South Korea with a price tag of KRW 330,000 or about $300.

‘Papers, Please’ for iPad game review

Papers, Please is a multi award-winning indie game on the desktop. The game was lauded for its interesting gameplay premise, involving an immigration office where your job is to go through people’s passports and documents to allow or deny them entry into the fictional country of Arstotzka.

The holiday shopping spree is going at full speed and Samsung wants to make sure the Galaxy Note 4 is a big part of that. The company has released yet another Christmas-themed ad for its flagship phablet, this time dedicated to one of its coolest productivity features.

Verizon now gives you 50% off on Android phones priced at $199 or more

To help you get into the gift-giving mood, Verizon has a pretty good deal going on for Android smartphones. Namely, the carrier is selling all Android devices that normally cost $199 or more with a two-year contract for just 50% of their price.

Facebook’s new Stickered app lets you plaster stickers over your photos

The team that’s in charge of developing Facebook’s Messenger apps has come up with something new. The app is called Stickered, and it’s apparently due to be out in the Google Play Store for Android later today. It will also make it to iOS at some point in the future.

As you can see from the image above, Stickered basically lets you plaster the stickers you can find in Facebook Messenger over parts of your photos. Why you would choose to do such a thing is still quite the mystery, but – if you want to, now you can. Read more »
