The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 adopted the metal frame of the Galaxy Alpha but disassembling it doesn’t seem too hard if you know what you’re doing. The metal frame comes off with the back side of the device and brings the antennas with it. The middle part is the motherboard, which houses a collection of sensors and chips.

One of the more interesting discoveries from the internals of the Galaxy Note 4 is the confirmation that the 16MP optically stabilized camera uses a Sony IMX240 sensor, rather than the 16MP ISOCELL sensor made by Samsung. Read more »

Apparently, China Unicom, the country’s second biggest carrier, has hired on-site tailors for its store in Shanghai to offer the service of pocket enlargement to those customers who opt for the bigger iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple unveiled the new Mac mini yesterday complete with two Thunderbolt 2.0 ports, 4th generation Intel chipsets with the latest HD Graphics 5000, Wi-Fi ac and more but it all comes at a cost.

The Nokia Refocus app for Windows Phone has been rebranded with a new name. The app is now called Lumia Refocus in the spirit of Microsoft’s recent changes, which saw almost everything drop the Finns’ brand.

In case you are not aware, the whole iPhone ‘Bendgate’ controversy was started when YouTuber Unbox Therapy bent an iPhone 6 Plus into a boomerang on video using just his hands. This sparked a lot of debate, ranging from the validity of these tests (I say these because everyone else started doing them as well) to the legitimacy of the original video. He later did another video in public where he bent another iPhone 6 Plus out on the street on camera.

Since then, there have been a lot of requests to bend other phones, as most people believe it is possible to bend other phones as well. I’m pretty sure by far the most requests would have been to bend the new Galaxy Note 4 on camera, since it is the iPhone 6 Plus’ closest rival, and Unbox Therapy has finally obliged. Read more »

Samsung has released a second video of the Galaxy Note 4 testing facilities and it shows the phone in a series of comprehensive drop tests. While in the previous video, Samsung focused on bending the Note 4, here the company goes medieval on it with hundreds of drop and tumble tests.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy Note 4 walks out of all of them with the screen intact and working perfectly. The video doesn’t focus on any visual damage that the tests might’ve caused, but having the Note 4 work at the end is impressive. Read more »
