Angry Birds has been one of the most popular games of the mobile age, with each title in the series becoming an instant hit across the platforms it’s available on. The company has now given itself a well deserved pat on the back as the different titles available on multiple platforms have already been downloaded a whooping 1.7 billion times.

More importantly, Rovio has announced the new series of Angry Birds cartoons, which will debut on March 16. The first season will contain 52 episodes and the show will be telecasted on Saturdays. Read more »

The original Temple Run hit iOS back in 2011. The game was an instant success, reaching the top of charts around the world. It arrived on the Play Store last year and saw similar response from Android users as well.

It was also last year when Imangi released Temple Run: Brave, a variation of the original game made in collaboration with Disney for their movie ‘Brave’. It featured a new character and different level design but was essentially the old game in a new wrapper. But earlier this year, Imangi released Temple Run 2 that brought with it completely redesigned visuals and some new gameplay mechanics.

Now, shortly after the release of Temple Run 2, the developers have released Temple Run: Oz. Like Temple Run: Brave before it, Temple Run: Oz is based on an upcoming Disney movie, ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ and carries forward the visual and gameplay enhancements from Temple Run 2 but with new level designs keeping with the theme of the movie. The original Riptide GP released two years ago was one of the first games to be optimized for NVIDIA’s Tegra series of mobile GPU. The game featured advanced visual effects, such as water splashes and motion blur that were exclusive to devices running Tegra processors.

The smartphone has a large 2330 mAh battery to rely on, but the quad-core Krait CPU and the 5″ 1080p display are known to consume quite a lot of power. Samsung was expected to launch a bunch of other tablets along with its Galaxy Note 8.0 at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress. One of the more appealing of the rumored tablets was the Galaxy Tab 3 Plus and the good news is that the tablet launch might just be around the corner as it has been officially listed on the Bluetooth.org website.

The listing confirms the model number of the tablet to be GT-P8220 and the existence of an LTE variant. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Plus was reported to boast a 2560×1600 resolution display and the tablet is expected to rub its shoulders against the likes of Google Nexus 10 and Apple Retina iPad. Read more »

The latest release of CyanogenMod is out and it expands the list of device supported by the after market firmware. CyanogenMod 10.1 M2 release is based on Android 4.2.2 and the latest development brings support for the Nexus family and few other popular smartphones.

The second release of Cyanogen’s M version brings some new features as well, such as wireless display and daydream support. Furthermore, CyanogenMod 10.1 also squashes a ton of bugs that were reported by users of the nightlies and the developmental firmware is quite stable now. Read more »
