Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut comes free of charge on June 26

BioWare has just announced the Extended Cut DLC for Mass Effect 3 will be released on June 26 worldwide for PC and Xbox 360. The PlayStation 3 update will be pushed on June 26 in North America and July 4 for the rest of the world.

The DLC is free, weighs almost 2GB and expands the cinematic sequences at the end of the game. Once again – there won’t be any changes on the story, just more answers and closure. Read more »

Meizu App Center reaches 200 million downloads milestone

Meizu has just announced their own App Center has passed the 200 million downloads mark. This happens only three months after the 100 million milestone was reached.

Apple App Store passes 30 billion downloads mark, $5 billion paid to developers

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has just announced the iOS App Store has passed the 30 billion download milestone.

Today the App Store has more than 650 000 apps, 225 000 of them specifically designed for the iPads. There are also 400 million App Store accounts from 120 countries around the world with attached credit cards to them. Read more »

Sony will announce new Xperia smartphone on June 21 or earlier

Last week Sony put a teaser on its Facebook page about a new Xperia phone announcement. It was supposed to happen today at 11AM GMT, but after almost half an hour of delay Sony unveiled, well, another teaser.

Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a new MHL port, HDMI adapters not compatible

Here is a bummer. The flagship Galaxy S III has a redesigned MHL port and that’s incompatible with the previous HDMI MHL adapters available for other Samsung products.

The reason is very simple – despite the USB MHL port looks the same, the phone uses the connector pins in a different way. Thus your old MHL HDMI cables won’t work on the newly released S III. Read more »

Nokia 808 PureView extended retail package spotted

The Nokia 808 PureView just went on sale and we showed you photos of its first unboxing. Among the pictures you could see two of the optional accessories of the smartphone – the tripod mount and the protector case.

We assumed that you’d have to purchase those accessories additionally, but it seems Nokia will also offer the 808 PureView with an extended retail package, which includes them. Read more »

Mars One – the first plan for a human settlement on Mars

Mars One is the first realistic project I’ve ever encountered for gradual colonization of Mars. It has already gathered support among scientists and is searching for sponsors and… the first person to land on the red planet.

There is already an established plan for the preparation and astronaut training. The first humans to settle on Mars will arrive in 2023, with the launch scheduled for September 14, 2022. Read more »

Acer unveiled the Iconia Tab A110 – a 7” tablet based on the quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 platform. It measures 11.4mm in thickness and weighs 370g.

Asus just made quite a few announcements at the eve of Computex – the TAICHI dual-screen notebook series, the Transformer Book lineup with detachable screens, two Transformer-like tablets, and the all-in-one PC Transformer AiO.

A benchmark confirms quad-core CPU and new Mali T-604 GPU for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

A result for the Basemark ES 2.0 Taiji reveals new processor and graphic core for the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1. This is another confirmation of Samsung’s last minute change of heart and the switch to a quad-core chipset for the Note tablet.

According to the leak, the model number is the same as the previous dual-core Note 10.1, but the chipset is different – Exynos 4412 with a quad-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Read more »
