Google Fit has arrived in the Play Store. The app is meant to be the central repository for all your fitness-related data. It automatically detects whether you’re walking, biking, or running.
It lets you set and monitor fitness goals based on your activity levels, and it can be connected to other apps too – Strava, Withings, Runtastic, Runkeeper, and Noom Coach being name dropped by Google in its official announcement. Read more »
The young and ambitious startup Nextbit launched a forward-thinking cloud sync and backup service for Android called Baton. The new service aims to integrate deeply into the OS and allow users to easily switch devices by seamlessly syncing their apps and data.
In addition to syncing data into the cloud, Baton users will be able to push the current state of any open application to another Android device. Read more »
A third-party bamboo protective case for OnePlus One made its way to the online marketplace. The accessory aims to fill the void left by last month’s cancellation of the Chinese manufacturer’s own bamboo StyleSwap covers.

The Asus Nexus Player set-top box was unveiled by Google alongside the Nexus 6 phablet and Nexus 9 tablet earlier this month. While the console will become available in the US in early November, it looks like it may take its sweet time reaching Europe.
Google didn’t announce any specific plans for a release of the Nexus Player outside of the US, and now a rumor claims it will only make it to European countries sometime during the first quarter of 2015 (so before the end of March). Read more »
Samsung is continuing its promotional campaigns for the Galaxy Note 4, its latest flagship phablet. The company has released two new ads for the device, one focusing on its camera and the other on the S Pen stylus that comes bundled with the Note 4.

LG G Pad 10.1, 8.0 and 7.0 were launched earlier this year as affordable Wi-Fi-only slates. Later we heard LG is prepping LTE-enabled flavors of those slates and shortly after we saw LG G Pad 7.0 LTE kicking off on AT&T, while the LTE-capable LG G Pad 8.0 went global.

The optional Gamepad for Google Nexus Player is now available in the Google Play store. Like the set top box it is designed for, the Asus-made accessory is set to leave the warehouse in 3-4 weeks.

Republique is a stealth game that was released on iOS earlier late last year. The game was born out of a successful Kickstarter campaign. It features an episodic format that is gaining popularity these days and so far three out of the five episodes have been released.

In a rather stealthy fashion, Amazon made its Appstore application for Android redundant. The retail giant baked its Android marketplace into the main app, which is available in the Google Play store.
