With the online forums and the social networks already abuzz after the Samsung Galaxy S5 unveiling, some of the Korean manufacturer’s rivals added their take as well. Both Nokia and HTC took jabs at the newly announced Samsung flagship on Twitter.

Today at the Mobile World Congress 2014, Nokia has come up with its first foray into the Android world by announcing not one, but three Android devices, the X, X+ and XL.
The three smartphones run a heavily customized version of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). AOSP is all Android but without Google’s service baked in. Instead, Nokia has added its own services and Microsoft’s, too.
A promise of a full-featured 4-inch budget Android phone for 89 euro should be enough to show you Nokia is dead set on undercutting pretty much all smartphone competition out there. That would have been all fine and dandy if Nokia’s Devices division was not on its way to a full acquisition by Microsoft – one of Google’s biggest adversaries in the mobile space.

LG L40, a.k.a. Optimus L4 III, is the last and most compact of the new LIII series. It will be available next month in dual and triple SIM versions.

Nokia’s X family of Android smartphones are headlining today’s morning at the MWC 2014. To get people more familiar with the X, X+ and XL, the Finns have launched an official hands-on video where the company details the most important features of the phones.
The trio of Nokia X smartphones are built on top of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and feature an interface similar to the Windows Phone 8 one. There’s Nokia Glance Screen, which gives you information of the time and pending notifications without the need to unlock the phone. Read more »

Lenovo officially announced the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ Android 4.3 Jelly Bean slate. As its name suggests, the newcomer features a 10” wide-view display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels.
Lenovo’s latest Android slate features the same design as the Yoga 10 which arrived in October last year. It features a kickstand with three different modes which include reading, gaming, and viewing images or video. Read more »
