Several months after the launch on the last generation consoles, Rockstar is releasing the game on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

As you can expect, the game now runs at a higher resolution, with improved detail, greater draw distance and denser traffic. Despite the thoroughly outdated hardware of the last gen console, Rockstar managed to make the game look good so you can image how good it would look on the current gen and PC. One of the new features in iOS 8 is time-lapse mode in the Camera app. For those who don’t know, time-lapse mode takes a series of photographs with a few second interval and in the end combines all the images into a video, which when played looks like a fast-forwarded video.

It’s not something you’d use often but it’s a cool thing to have and definitely gives some cool results as we will see now. Read more »

We already have phones and tablets pushing Quad HD resolutions so it was only a matter of time before someone managed to shoehorn a 4K UHD display into a tablet. During the French Open at Roland Garros, Qualcomm had an unnamed Samsung tablet with a 4K display.

The device in question was a prototype and meant to showcase the LTE Broadcast but it was certainly running a 12.2-inch, 4K display. The design was almost identical to many of the current Samsung Galaxy tablets. On the inside, it was said to be running the Qualcomm 801 SoC. Read more »

Samsung is all set to announce its next generation Galaxy Tab S. The event will be held on Thursday, June 12 in New York City in Madison Square Garden.

The focus so far has been on the display on this tablet. The Galaxy Tab S is said to have a 2560 x 1600 resolution Super AMOLED display in 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch sizes. On the inside, the Galaxy Tab S will be running an octa-coreExynos 5420 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2.1 megapixel front camera, 32GB internal memory, fingerprint sensor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. When we discussed some of the best new features in iOS 8, we did mention that there will be a lot more in the OS that Apple forgot to mention and will be revealed as people use the OS. One such new feature (for iOS) that has come to light is the presence of FaceTime audio conference calls.

It’s pretty much what it sounds like. Instead of just having a call with one person, you can now add other people with iOS or OS X devices to the call. Unfortunately, there is no support for FaceTime video conference call yet. Read more »

Ever since the Xbox One released, PC gamers have been asking Microsoft to be able to use the new controller with their machines. The Xbox 360 controller has been available for PC for years now and it is one of the best controllers ever made but the new Xbox One controller is even better, so naturally people wanted to use it with their PC.

Up until now, there was no way to use the new controller with Windows due to a lack of drivers but Microsoft has taken care of that issue. Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb, more commonly known as Major Nelson, posted on his blog drivers that you can download on your PC to enable support for the new controller. Google has released an update for the YouTube app on Android. The only major change is that you can now choose what resolution you stream the video at rather than have the app select it for you.

Now, when you click on the menu button in the video and tap on the gear icon, you will get a list of resolution options, from the eye-watering 144p all the way to 1080p. The max resolution will depend upon the video, of course. Even if you do come across a 4K video, however, the max setting is still 1080p. Read more »

Apple will soon be introducing a new MFI (Made for iPhone) specification that will allow headphone manufacturers to make headphones using a Lightning connector instead of the standard 3.5mm jack.

Right now, the Lightning connector already supports audio in/out, which is how sound docks work, but to be able to make headphones for it, manufacturers need that particular specification from Apple which allows them to go forward. Read more »

AirPlay is one of the easiest ways to send media content from your Mac or iOS device to your Apple TV. However, it requires both the device as well as the Apple TV to first be on the same network. This is fine for when you’re at home but so convenient when you’re trying to show something on someone else’s Apple TV.

Apple has removed that limitation with the new iOS 8. Now, your device will connect directly to an Apple TV without having to connect first to the Wi-Fi network.

Google has finally released a 64-bit version of Chrome for Windows. Currently only in beta form, the latest build can be downloaded from Google’s Canary and Dev channels.

According to Google, the 64-bit version is faster than the 32-bit version, with an average 25% improvement in performance. It is also more secure than the 32-bit version, and takes advantage of features such as High Entropy ASLR on Windows 8. Finally, the 64-bit version is also more stable with almost half the crashes of the 32-bit version. Read more »

Yesterday, Apple took the wraps off iOS 8 at its WWDC keynote. Considering the paucity of leaks before the event, no one really had any high hopes from the update as far as new features were concerned, which is why everyone was pleasantly surprised when Apple started firing one great new feature after another during the event that would have made even users of other platforms sit up and take notice.

Today, we are compiling some of the truly great new features that Apple introduced with iOS 8. Note, when I say “new”, some of these may not be new in general but just new to iOS. Still, for current users of iOS, this is the kind of stuff that will keep them interested in the platform and for those on the fence or looking to switch over, these are the features that could serve as the final push. After T-Mobile started rolling out the Android 4.4.3 update to the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 in the US, Google has now updated its factory images and binaries page with the latest update. The factory images are available for the aforementioned devices as well as the Nexus 10.

The factory images will come in handy to anyone looking to flash their device with the latest update but those who are not sure should stay away from them and wait for the update to be available for download over-the-air. Read more »

Korean pop star Park Jae-sang, better known by his stage name Psy, released the incredibly popular song ‘Gangnam Style’ back in 2012. Despite being in Korean, the video became a worldwide sensation, and was especially popular on YouTube.

Gangnam Style became the first YouTube video back in 2012 to cross 1 billion views, surpassing Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’. Now, after nearly two years, Gangnam Style has become the first video to cross 2 billion views on YouTube. Read more »

Couple of weeks ago, WhatsApp pulled their app from the Window Phone. The reasons were cited to be technical issues without further elaboration on the issue.

Since then, WhatsApp has been working with Microsoft to fix the issue. Whatever the issue was, the app is now back on the store. Read more »
