Xiaomi Redmi 2 has paid us a visit recently and we took it for a long spin. The Redmi 1S successor has lost some weight and body mass, it brings a 64-bit processor to the table and its dual-SIM capabilities don’t come at the expense of LTE connectivity.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 has the same 4.7″ 720p display as its 1S sibling, but runs on the Snapdragon 410 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 processor and Adreno 306 GPU. HP launched today a plethora of new tablets running either Android or Windows OS. A diversity of user scenarios seems to be what HP had in mind prepping those gadgets and it sure looks like it succeeded.
A few days ago we reported about a sketchy update service on Micromax phones. Multiple users complained that they were seeing ads in their notification areas or, even worse, completely new installed apps that they never approved. All these unpleasantries appeared after updating the phone’s firmware.

Sony Xperia C3 Dual stopped by our office recently and we did a thorough inspection as usual. The 5.5″ phablet runs on the dated Snapdragon 400, but offers some great features as selfie-centric front snapper with a LED flash, a rear 8MP camera, plus dual-SIM or LTE connectivity.

Apple has raised the minimum price for apps in the App Store. Apple announced the upcoming change back in December and it now applies for all EU countries and Canada.
Apple’s flat rate for different markets is gone for good. The price now includes the appropriate VAT for the market, which regional Store you are using, and thus it will be collected by its local government. Read more »
Microsoft will be detailing the upcoming Windows 10 in two weeks, but the new features keep leaking on a daily basis. Recently we learnt Microsoft is working on a stand-alone web browser called Spartan, which should replace (though not put to rest) the Internet Explorer.
