Google updates the YouTube app with iPad and iPhone 5 support

Google finally updated its YouTube app to support iPads and the latest iPhone 5.

One of a kind Samsung Mobile Store opens in Paris

Samsung opened its first Samsung Mobile Store in Paris, France on December 1. It’s dedicated to mobile devices only and offers a similar experience and support as the Apple’s Retail Stores.

The store spreads to 170 square meters and you can find and try every one of the latest Samsung’s smartphones, players, slates, portable cameras and notebooks. Read more »

Facebook Messenger finds its true calling, wants to be the all-in-one messenger hub

Facebook brought a major update for its Messenger client, which helped expand its reach. Until today the app had only one use – chats between online Facebook friends. Now it no longer requires you to have a Facebook account.

Basically the new Messenger wants a piece from the WhatsApp and the native SMS clients’ share. It allows users to send messages to whoever is in their phonebooks and does not require any social log-in. Read more »

A Google employee confirms Android Key Lime Pie name

The Google employee Manu Cornet confirmed the name of the next Android (5.0) version – Key Lime Pie. He did this in a pretty funny way – drawing a comic showing the evolution of Android.

Photo Sync for Facebook is out on Android and iOS

Facebook Photo Sync feature is now available to the Android and iOS client apps. If you used them just recently you should have already got a notification about the new extra.

It does exactly what the name suggests – automatically uploads your captured photos to a private album on Facebook. You can share them with your friends later if you want. Read more »

PhotoBeamer Lumia-exclusive image streaming app hits the WP store

Nokia’s Scalado acquisition continues to pay off as the company just announced the PhotoBeamer app. The software is exclusive app to the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 and allows you to stream photos quite easily.

You can stream your gallery to any device with a web browser and internet connection. What you need to do is open the PhotoBeamer website on the target device, scan a QR code with your phone’s PhotoBeamer app and your gallery will be shared immediately. Read more »

Angry Birds Star Wars update now available, brings 20 planet Hoth levels

Angry Birds Star Wars has just got its first update – the planet Hoth. It adds 20 new Hoth-themed levels, new pink (Leia) bird, bonus levels and AT-ATs.

New Skype for iOS lands in the Apple App Store, adds Microsoft account support

A new Skype 4.2 version is now available in the Apple’s App Store for all the iPhones, iPads and iPods Touch running on iOS 4.3 or later.

It adds support for Microsoft accounts and you can now chat with your Messenger, Hotmail and Outlook.com contacts directly from within Skype. The 4.2 version also allows you to tap and hold for edit on instant messages. Read more »

Nintendo Wii mini revealed, it’s a Canada exclusive

Nintendo announced the Wii Mini – it’s a smaller and lighter version of the original Wii console sans the internet connection.

Samsung demonstrates the Galaxy Camera in a 13 minutes video

Samsung released a 13 minute-long walkthrough for its Galaxy Camera Android-powered digicam. It’s really worth it if you don’t have a store with a demo unit, but you are considering getting the device.
