The Braven 805 wireless Bluetooth speaker is a colorful new addition to the manufacturer’s Design Series. The newcomer made its debut last month during CES in Las Vegas as part of a serious product onslaught by the Utah-based manufacturer.
Founded in 2011, Braven became part of the mobile accessories giant Incipio in the summer of 2013. Joining the bigger company has treated Braven quite well. Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Tab Active will go on sale in India in the near future. The Korean company hasn’t provided an exact launch timeline for the rugged device yet, but it has given us the all-important pricing information.
The Galaxy Tab Active will be offered for INR 52,000, which is equal to approximately $836 or €738. So it will be anything but cheap. Read more »
Project Ara is an odd beast – it’s the IBM PC of the smartphone world, a common platform for which different manufacturers can build components. Toshiba unveiled several camera modules for the customizable smartphone platform and this is just Phase 1, Phase 2 includes a wider selection of modules and finally Phase 3 will bring “unique modules” (that’s still under planning).

HTC One (M9) is yet to be officially presented to the world, so all we have to look at are hurried photos and leaked images promoting phone cases. Luckily, Martin Hajek is a wiz at making 3D models and he used all info available on the One (M9) to create a virtual phone and put it up against the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.

The VAIO PC brand, which became an independent company after Sony sold it off to a to Japanese investment fund last year, has announced two new Z series PCs: the VAIO Z and VAIO Z Canvas.
The VAIO Z features an Intel Core i7-5557U (3.1GHz) processor, a 13-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, and Intel’s Iris Graphics 6100 GPU. It comes with 8GB/16GB RAM and 256/512GB SSD options. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, USB 3.0, as well as IEEE802.11 ac / a / b / g / n wireless support. Hundreds of Apple employees are secretly working on an electric vehicle that apparently looks like a minivan in its current form, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Dubbed Titan, the year-old project is being headed by former Ford engineer Steve Zadesky who also helped the company create the iPod and iPhone.
The project would take several years to complete, and that’s assuming Apple decides to go through with it, something which isn’t certain as the company often develops prototypes for testing other products and technologies. Read more »
Google has announced that it’s shutting down its real-time expert assistance service Helpouts. “The Helpouts community includes some engaged and loyal contributors, but unfortunately, it hasn’t grown at the pace we had expected,” the Mountain View, California-based company said in a blog post.
The service will be discontinued on April 20, and you’ll be able to download your Helpouts history by using Google Takeout until November 1 this year. Read more »
