Just as promised, the famous singer and musician Will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas) introduced his intriguing 14MP camera accessories for the Apple iPhone 5 at a special event in London.

The accessories are part of the i.am+ foto.sosho line-up and comprise of the C.4, V.4 for the iPhone 4 and 4S V.5 and L.5, naturally, for the iPhone 5. All of them come with interchangeable lenses and a dedicated app. Read more »

Nexus 4 glass back could crack with temperature change

Although not a lot of people have managed to get their hands on Google’s latest and greatest smartphone, we have already started seeing some complaints from the early adopters. One of the major issues so far has been a buzzing in the earpiece that a significant number of owners are reporting.

But by far the biggest pain point is the glass back on the Nexus 4, which has an affinity to crack when the device is dropped. However, it seems that dropping may not be the only way to break the glass. It can also break with something as simple as temperature change. Read more »

Microsoft takes a jab at Google with new ‘Scroogled’ website

In an attempt to pull more users towards its Bing search engine, Microsoft has launched a site targeted at Google Shopping.

Microsoft claims that Google Shopping is basically a system where advertisers pay to have their products show up higher in a “pay-to-rank” system, and that you’re basically viewing ads when browsing its results. Read more »

iPad still dominates tablet market, things are getting closer though

The Apple iPad share in the tablet market in Q3 has remained flat at 55%. That’s more than half of the entire segment, which is a pretty great achievement.

However Android now covers 44% of the tablet shipments in Q3, which means the open-source OS is gaining speed faster than previously projected. Read more »

Nokia Lumia 920 taken on rough ride through the desert for the ultimate optical stabilization test

The Nokia Lumia 920 features optical image stabilization (OIS) for its 8MP camera and while Nokia dropped the ball when it was discovered its promo video was not shot with the 920 at all, fans took it on themselves to reshoot the sample. But riding a bike is too mellow, driving a four by four through the desert puts lot more stress on the OIS and is much cooler too.

Microsoft sells 40 million Windows 8 licenses a month after the launch of the OS

At the end of October, Microsoft officially launched the Windows 8 operating system and now, a month later, the company reports it has already sold 40 million licenses.

An impressive achievement for the guys at Redmond, indeed. In comparison, there were 60 million Windows 7 licenses sold in the first 10 weeks after its launch at the end of 2009. Read more »

Microsoft shifts 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles during the Black Friday week

It might be six years old and have a replacement lurking right around the corner, but numbers say that the Xbox 360 is still one hell of a gaming console. Microsoft announced that it sold 750,000 units thanks to the shopping frenzy surrounding the Black Friday week.

The above number handily trumps the achievements of some of Microsoft’s major competitors, including Nintendo’s spanking new Wii U, which was plagued by stock shortages during the same period. Read more »

Google Drive gets integrated into Gmail, making 10GB attachments a reality

Microsoft releases Outlook.com app for Android

Microsoft has released the Outlook.com app for Android. It is, as you would expect, an email client for your Outlook (previous Hotmail) account. What you wouldn’t expect is just how badly made this app from Microsoft is.

Just looking at the screenshots above you can see what is wrong with the app. It looks like it went into development when Gingerbread came out and since then no one told Microsoft about ICS and Jelly Bean. Read more »

Apple’s new iMacs to go on sale on November 30, the 21.5-inch model goes first

Apple finally came clear about the launch date of its new generation of iMacs. Thinner, faster and DVD-less, the new iMacs will hit it off this Friday, November 30.

Unfortunately, it’s only the 21.5-inch (1920x1080px) model that will ship immediately. The 27-inch iMac (2560x1444px) will join the little one in early December and it would only be available online. Read more »
