LG L90 hand-on

Leading the charge of the new LG Series III is the LG L90. Its 4.7″ IPS LCD display is of qHD resolution resulting in a pixel density of 234ppi. The display itself boasts nice colors and vieweing angles, but contrast isn’t particularly great.

Below the display, there’s a physical Home button sitting between a back and menu capacitive keys. On the dual SIM version, there’s no physical Home button, but four capacitive ones – back, home, menu and dual SIM manager.

LG G Pro 2 hands-on

LG G Pro 2 went official 10 days prior the MWC. It has already gone on sale in Korea, while US and Europe will be getting in in March and April.

The G Pro 2 is the successor of the Optimus G Pro phablet and upgrades all major specs. It comes with a larger 5.9″ 1080p IPS display, runs on the Snapdragon 800 chipset with 3GB of RAM, and comes with a 13MP camera with enhanced optical image stabilization (OIS+). Read more »

Lenovo teasing tablet for Mobile World Congress

Lenovo has got a secret and it will share it with the world tomorrow at 1pm EST. The company is teasing an image of a tablet, which shows very little – a frame, some large-looking bezels and a front-facing camera.

LG G Flex for AT&T hands-on

LG G Flex made its way officially to the United States, so we managed to spend some one-on-one time with an AT&T version of the self-healing curved phablet. The LTE device is also offered by T-Mobile and Sprint across the Atlantic.

The AT&T branded LG G Flex sports the same hardware as the Korean version which we extensively reviewed. Its specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory, 6” 720p curved P-OLED touchscreen, and 13MP camera. Read more »

Sony continues to tease Xperia Z2 ahead of its MWC event

Sony has released a new video teaser with the promise that “Something extraordinary is coming…” at its MWC event, which takes place in two days from now.

The teaser runs for about 15 seconds and doesn’t give anything away. The short video ends with a “what comes next?” tag line and what we can guess based on the rumor mill is that the upcoming device could well be the new flagship device and the successor of the Xperia Z1 smartphone. Read more »

Unfazed by the lackluster demand for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Samsung is (ahem) gearing towards launching its successor. And it seems there are going to be not one but two new Galaxy Gear smartwatches this year.

Evleaks just tweeted a photo of two new Samsung smartwatches that look quite similar to the current Galaxy Gear, called Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. Taking Samsung’s recent naming convention into consideration, the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo is bound to be simpler of the two new watches with more aggressive pricing. Read more »

BBM to soon get premium sticker packs

BlackBerry has revealed that their BlackBerry Messenger or BBM service will soon get premium stickers for use in chats. Like, paid stickers. Involving actual money. For stickers. On BBM.

The stickers will be available for purchase from the new BBM Shop, which will be launched simultaneously. The store will be within the app itself and for now will feature several premium sticker packs containing 20-25 stickers each along with a free BBM sticker pack including stickers of current BBM emoticons. Qualcomm Toq price dropped by $100

Qualcomm has announced a sweet $100 off the price of their smartwatch, the Qualcomm Toq. The device was originally priced at $349.99 but will now be available at $249.99 for both the black and the white versions.

The Toq is Qualcomm’s first attempt at the nascent smartwatch category. The unique feature about this watch that set it apart from the Pebble was the presence of a color Mirasol display, also developed by Qualcomm. Although a decent smartwatch, the price was clearly too high for many aspiring buyers, so it’s no wonder Qualcomm dropped it not too long after launch. Read more »

iOS 7.0.6 update released

Apple has released a tiny update for iOS devices running iOS 7. This will bump up the version number to iOS 7.0.6 and brings with it just one small change.

The update provides a fix for SSL connection verification, preventing an attacker with a privileged network position from capturing or modifying data in sessions protected by SSL/TLS. Read more »
