HP splits in two separate business, one for PC and printing, the other for Enteprirse

HP has officially announced that it is splitting into two companies. Hewlett-Packard is going to spin off its PC and printer division leaving its Enterprise and services unit as separate business.

Dion Weisler will take the wheel of the HP’s new PC and printer business. Sadly, however, the company is going to rise the planned layoffs from 45,000 to 55,000. Read more »

Adobe updates its Creative Cloud for desktop by adding new sharing capabilities

Samsung plans to invest $14.7 billion in a new chip plant

Reuters reports that Samsung is planning to invest the gargantuan $14.7 billion in a new chip-making factory over the next three years. That’s the biggest investment the company has ever made into a single plant.

According to Samsung’s plans, the plant is going to be built in Pyeongtaek, which is 75 km south of Seoul and create 150,000 jobs (about a third of the city’s population). Read more »

Sharp and Qualcomm to join IGZO and MEMS display tech in 7″ Android tablet

Sharp has partnered up with Qualcomm to bring a first-of-its-kind display to tablets, sooner than expected. The 7″ tablet will sport an IGZO-MEMS TFT display, which promises the full color range of regular LCDs with the power-efficiency of MEMS displays.

Entwined Challenge is a simplified version of Entwined, modified and optimized for touchscreen devices. You play as a fish and a bird and control both characters simultaneously in an endless runner sort of environment. The original PlayStation title received mixed reviews from critics.
