Nintendo showcased their upcoming Wii U console with some kickass games that take advantage of its unique controller. As you may know, the Wii U controller has a massive touchscreen between the controls, that gives access to special game features and also lets you switch off the main screen and just play the game on the controller itself, like a PSVita.
Some of the developers have really taken to this new control mechanism. We have the new Batman Arkham City Armored Edition where you can control Batman’s weapons and gadgets from the touchscreen while playing the game, among other things. While some might not think it is fair, it surely hasn’t stopped NVIDIA from working with developers to bring special versions of games that are designed to take full advantage of their Tegra hardware and add additional effects and features not found on the non-Tegra versions of these games. We have already seen games like Shadowgun, Samurai II: Vengeance and Riptide GP being optimized for Tegra 3 and now NVIDIA has announced five new games at E2 2012 that will be part of NVIDIA’s TegraZone.
The first of these is the game that you see above called Dead Trigger, which we have talked about once before. This is a first person zombie shooter made by the same people who brought you Shadowgun and Samurai II. We have already seen trailers for both these games, God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us, before but now it’s time to see some gameplay videos. Sony took the opportunity at E3 2012 to do exactly that.
Ascension looks a lot like the previous God of War games. There is Kratos who is his usual angry self, tearing his enemies apart limb by limb. There are some new enemies here but the coolest thing that you see in the gameplay video is the ability to repair damaged environments to their former self and use that to progress through the game. The Microsoft event at E3 2012 has more than just new announcements for the Xbox. It also featured some killer game demos for some of the upcoming games. This includes the likes of Halo 4, Gears of War: Judgement, Tomb Raider Crossroads, Forza Horizon, Resident Evil 6, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, Fable The Journey and more.

Yesterday, Microsoft kicked off E3 2012 with some major announcements for the Xbox 360, which reportedly recently became the best selling console in the world, surpassing the Playstation 3. The first of the bunch is Internet Explorer for Xbox.
It’s surprising that until this point there was no web browser on the Xbox, even though its rival PS3 had one since launch. Microsoft is now making up for it by bringing the Metro version of IE that we saw in Windows 8 on the Xbox. It will have full integration with Kinect so you would be able to use your voice to control it instead of using cumbersome keyboards in your living room. Read more »
