Hot on the heels of Android Wear’s firmware bump, Google Fit for Android received a major update as well. The latest version of the search giant’s health and fitness suite brings new features to the platform.
Google Fit now supports manual entry for over 100 new activities. They range from hiking, through gardening and yoga, all the way to mixed martial arts. The list of activities could well be the most extensive one to date on any health platform.
Improved Android Wear support including the ability to track steps without having the smartwatch connected to a phone is also on board. The feature is still in experimental stage. Bug fixes and performance improvements round up the list of changes in the new Google Fit.
