OnePlus joined LG in taking a poke at the freshly announced Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Chinese manufacturer posted a graphic, which compares its “flagship killer” to the Korean phablet royalty.
The graphic compares key features of both devices, including specifications, build-quality, and, of course price. Check it out below.
All in all, I couldn’t help but think that OnePlus picked the wrong device to compare the OnePlus One with. Competitive pricing aside, the Chinese handset is simply no match of the latest Samsung phablet – it actually belongs in an entirely different class in my opinion.
Picking on the update frequency and the build quality of the Note 4 is particularly ludicrous, as the phablet features the same sleek metal frame as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Samsung’s flagship devices on the other hand, have always been treated to a robust OS upgrade cycle.
There’s hardly any doubt that the OnePlus One is an amazing device, especially considering the fact that no one had heard of its maker this time last year (we liked it quite a bit in our review). However, instead of trying to poke fun at established players, its maker should probably focus on getting the handset into the hands of more users (its invite-only system has proven to be quite frustrating this far).
What do you think? Is OnePlus aiming a little too high with its latest stint?
