Lenovo announces IdeaPad S200 and IdeaPad S206 netbooks, will launch in June

Following the announcement of its new line of ultrabooks, Lenovo has now lifted the curtains off the IdeaPad S-series netbooks.

The IdeaPad S200 and S206 target the already too-crowded niche of affordable and decently performing netbooks.

Both netbooks share the same 11.6-inch HD widescreen display and measure 0.81 inches (20,7mm) while weighing in at a reasonable 2.8lbs (1.3kg).

Specs-wise the IdeaPad S200 and S206 aren’t going to win any awards, but will suffice for light day-to-day use. The more affordable S200 comes with a dual-core Intel Atom processor and up to 32GB of SSD storage, while the juicier S206 is equipped with a dual-core AMD processor.

Lenovo says that the little fellas will be able to last for up to 4 hours, but let’s hope extended batteries will be available, too. Additionally, there’s Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3, and a 0.3MP HD webcam.

In June, each of the netbooks will get a number of different color versions including Cotton-candy Pink, Crimson Red, Electric Blue, Graphite Grey and Pearl White. Prices will start at $349, but more beefed-up variations will cost considerably more.
