The novelties Windows Mobile 6.5.3 will bring along…

The recently announced Sony Ericsson Aspen comes with the WinMo’s latest reincarnation – 6.5.3. OK, Sony Ericsson let us know what new brings the phone itself but we have to guess what the new WinMo version has to offer. Well, here is the full list of improvement brought by Windows Mobile 6.5.3.

There were some WinMo 6.5.3 screenshots circulating in the web a few months back but thanks to ZDNet.com I am now able to share with you all what you actaully can expect from the latest version (up to date) of Microsoft’s operating system for mobile devices. And if I have to summarize the changes with only one word, it will definitely be “capacitive”. Capacitive displays are now welcome.

That includes multi-touch. So, now WinMo should be more thumbable than ever. Controls will not be just bigger than before but really touch optimized, in other words – no stylus will be needed. Old apps will be given touch optimization as well – by the included in WinMo 6.5.3 magnifier (does the name iPhone ring a bell; anyways, a magnifier is more than welcome).

Navigation is expected to be consistent now and the ancient tabs will be replaced by a horizontal scroll bar which should make browsing through the settings way user friendlier. Next is the improved Start screen. Thanks to the WinMo 6.5.3 to rearrange icons just drag and drop them.

The Internet Explorer hasn’t been left untouched as well. According to Microsoft pages will now load faster and the memory will be managed better. Pan and flick gestures will be smoother while zooming in and out as well as rotation will now be quicker.

There is no word on any changes affecting the email client, though.

Well, there is nothing ground-breaking here but who expects something more from a version with so many dots between the numbers. And isn’t WinMo 7 what we all are waiting for?
