Samsung unveils the DSLR-like NX5, a cheaper alternative to NX10

Samsung are firmly standing behind their proprietary NX system of interchangeable lens cameras that was introduced with the Samsung NX10. Today they are announcing a model positioned lower than the NX10. The NX5 sheds some of the heavy specs to go for a more affordable pricetag of 699 euro.

The Samsung NX5 uses the same APS-C-sized 14 megapixel sensor as the Samsung NX10, but trades the AMOLED screen of its predecessor for a more mundane 3-inch LCD unit. So far Samsung have been scarce on the rest of the NX5 specs but the compact yet powerful camera is slated for a release this very month.
