The HTC One V just completed its final lap in our battery test course and we’re ready to share how the most affordable member of the One family did. It has a relatively small LCD screen and a single CPU core, so its 1500mAh battery should last longer than the slightly larger battery in the One S, which has a bigger AMOLED screen and two CPU cores to feed.

Windows Phone running handsets are generally perceived to go easy on their batteries, due to the relatively modest hardware ticking inside them. The AT&T exclusive Nokia Lumia 900 however, has added LTE connectivity to the list of typical Windows Phone hardware specifications. Therefore, we were a bit cautious with our initial predictions.

Since we got our hands on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 we were eager to do our battery tests. We were pretty curious to find how the first Super AMOLED Plus-touting display fares, compared to its LCD rivals. Coming with a 5100mAh battery the Tab 7.7 has a theoretical advantage over the 7-inch Samsung slates, but it also has a larger screen with more pixels to power.

The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G for T-Mobile has a rather impressive spec sheet, which means that its battery will have a lot of features to power. And while its 1750 mAh capacity is a noticeable improvement over the 1500 mAh found in the original I9000, it now has an extra CPU core, faster 3G network, as well as NFC to deal with.

As a proper rugged device, the battery life of the AT&T exclusive Samsung Rugby Smart is among its most important features. After all, finding a charging spot when outdoors is not necessarily the easiest thing to do, right?

We were really curious to see how will the LTE rocking Samsung Galaxy Note I717 perform in our battery test. As you probably know already, the AT&T exclusive device sports a different, slightly less powerful CPU and chipset than the Exynos of the mighty N7000. We just got the report on the tablet market in 2011 from Strategy Analytics and it tells some interesting stories. The iPad managed to just over double its sales compared to 2010 and is still the dominant force, holding a market share of 57.6%.
However, the iPad is no longer able to keep up with the overall market growth, which is fueled by the strengthening Android sales. The green robot tablets shipments grew over three times year-over-year and that helped them reduce the gap to their iOS counterparts. Read more »
The Samsung Galaxy R is wiping the sweat from its brow as it just finished our battery test. We were curious to see how it will stack up against the Galaxy S II, but we’ll compare it to the other phones we’ve tested as well.
The SC-LCD screen should handle web pages better (since they are predominantly white, not a good scenario for AMOLEDs) and the chipset is clocked 200MHz lower, which might give the Galaxy R a crucial advantage when it comes to battery performance. Let’s find out. Read more »
The Nokia Lumia 710 just finished our battery test course and we guess you’re all very curios to see how it did compared to the Lumia 800. The 710 has a smaller battery (1300mAh vs. 1450mAh) and a different screen, which will have a major effect on the results.
Then again, when we tested the 800 it still hadn’t received it’s battery fix update from Nokia, so things might get pretty close. Read more »
