The Samsung Galaxy S4 is about the same size and weight as the Galaxy S III, except that the new model is slightly thinner. Even so, the battery capacity has increased by 500mAh to a nicely sounding 2,600mAh total.
Still, that battery has to feed four Krait 300 cores and a bigger screen with over twice the number of pixels. Let’s see how the 2013 flagship from Samsung compares to the one from 2012. Before we continue, we should make it clear that we’re using the I9505 for this test, that’s the Snapdragon 600 chipset and not the Exynos 5 Octa. Read more »
The LG Optimus G Pro brings several upgrades over the regular Optimus G, including a big 3,140mAh battery, but also a new screen and updated chipset. Let’s find out if the increase in battery capacity offsets the higher power demands of the screen, which is both bigger and higher res.
Before we go on, we’d like to note that our Optimus G Pro review unit (which came from Korea) has a spare battery and a battery charger/phone stand in the box. The international version might not have these goodies. Read more »

Sony Xperia Z was announced back at CES in January and its popularity grows bigger by the day. We have already had the Sony Xperia Z for quite a while in our office and its in-depth review is over here but once the MWC wrapped up we were also able to complete its battery test.
The smartphone has a large 2330 mAh battery to rely on, but the quad-core Krait CPU and the 5″ 1080p display are known to consume quite a lot of power. The fact that the battery isn’t user-replaceable puts even more pressure on the Xperia Z to do well here, and we were as curious as you are to find out if that’s actually the case. Read more »
We approached the Nokia Lumia 620 battery test with mixed feelings. Windows Phones had hardly topped our charts so far and the meager 1300mAh battery of the Lumia 620 didn’t bode well. Still, we had certain hopes for it as its screen is not that big and the dual-core CPU is clocked only at 1Ghz.
Battery tests are time-consuming affairs and we’ve had several of those piling up. The Lumia 620 review has been published for a while now, but it’s only now that we are able to publish its detailed battery performance test. Jump after the break to get the full account. Read more »

The BlackBerry Z10 has serious ambitions to become the business phone, but there’s one major requirement – it should be able to last during long hours spent at the office or traveling between meetings.
With a 1,800mAh capacity the Z10 battery isn’t the biggest around, but it has an OS designed just for it at the moment (unlike Android that runs on many different devices with many different chipsets). Read more »
Our review of Sony Xperia E dual is done, so we took our time to do a proper battery test. The results are ready for you to check out.

The Oppo Find 5 has ambitions of playing in the big leagues – it certainly did well enough during our review to be allowed entry. But high-end phones with their powerful chipsets and big screens can munch through a battery in record time.
Good thing it has a 2,500mAh battery – Motorola’s MAXX phones aside, most 5” or less phones have far less juice. The battery’s non-removable, too so it’d better be good. Read more »

The Lumia 510 shares many specs with the Lumia 610 we met with last summer, but comes with a 0.3-inch bigger display (that’s a more space to light up) and 4GB less of storage. Read more »
