Chrome Dev Summit boasts 400 million mobile users and exciting new features

The years Google I/O came with a whole array of exciting surprises. And even though the latest version of android 5.0 Lollipop took the spotlight, the Chrome division also had more than a few points to delight, one of which was the whopping 300 million user base on mobile devices. Last week, at this year`s Chrome Dev Summit, Darin Fisher updated that number to 400 million, which is a staggering growth to say the least.

Most of the focus was unsurprisingly centered around Lollipop and all of its various bells and whistles, like Polimer and Material Design. But Chrome has undergone some hefty improvements itself. Read more »

Samsung Gear VR takes customers around a virtual track in the new Audi TT S Coupe

This week, during the launch of the latest installment of the iconic TT Coupe, 115 Audi Centers all around UK will offer a unique virtual reality experience. Thanks to the power of the Samsung Gear VR headsets and Oculus technology showroom goers will be able to explore and experience Audi’s new lineup in action.

The demonstration itself is held entirely in virtual reality, thanks to Oculus coupled with the stunning Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. In it Juergen Loffler, TT designer, offers a personal guided tour around all of the design and technological features of the car and tops it of by giving you the chance to go around the famous Neuberg race track. Snapchat makes Our Stories a promotional tool for the AMAs, all sponsored by Samsung

Tonight Snapchat took upon an interesting marketing strategy to profit from its Our Stories collaborative live stream coverage of The American Music Awards. Samsung sponsored and branded a significant part of the content from the multimedia experience and thus pioneered a whole new advertising and monetizing strategy.

The AMA Our Stories in question mixes user-generated photos and videos from the event with a number of sponsored ones, carrying the distinctive tag “Powered by Samsung Galaxy”. This demonstrates a vast new array of profit possibilities for Snapchat by using a more natural, interesting and, above all, pleasant approach to presenting paid content. This type of presentation is a lot less intrusive and could prove to be significantly more successful than the standard ads, recently introduced within the app. Read more »
