Spigen Aluminum Fit case for iPhone 6 review

The Spigen Aluminum Fit case for iPhone 6 is the successor of last year’s Saturn model for iPhone 5s. The ultra-thin cover is designed for users who like to protect their smartphone without adding much bulk to it.

At a quick glance, the Aluminum Fit case for iPhone 6 trades ruggedness for light weight and good looks. Read past the break to find out more about the Korean manufacturer’s metal-clad offering.

Spigen Aluminum Fit for iPhone 6 features polycarbonate shell, covered by a brushed aluminum backplate. The case is available in four different color schemes – gold, silver, and gray like the iPhone 6’s own shades, and a dark blue hue dubbed Metal Slate.

Spigen Aluminum Fit in the flesh

The cover looks great in the flesh. It is among the few offerings in its price range that look decidedly upmarket.

Ergonomics of the Aluminum Fit are superb. All buttons and ports of the iPhone 6 are left uncovered and therefore easy to access. The slim profile of the case on the other hand allows for easy operation of the smartphone with one hand.

Unsurprisingly, the Spigen Aluminum Fit case requires you to make compromises about the protection of your iPhone 6. The cover will easily handle scratches, but not much else – in case of a drop, it won’t be able to absorb the shock like its more rugged siblings.

The exposed top and bottom edges of the handset mean that it can be damaged in case of a more serious drop. Overall, as you might have guessed already, the Aluminum Fit case is not designed for accident-prone users.

Wrap up

The Spigen Aluminum Fit could well be the best looking sub-$20 case for iPhone 6. In addition to its premium appearance, the cover entices with slim profile and superb ergonomics. I can easily recommend the case to anyone who can live with its shortcomings mentioned above.

Spigen Aluminum Fit for iPhone 6 is available on Amazon. Its price ranges between $15 and $18 depending on the color scheme.
