Evernote promises new app for Apple Watch

Apple Watch was announced last night o and people are still having trouble closing their jaws over the price tag of the limited editions. Apple showed the integration of several iOS apps with iOS 8.2 update on the Apple Watch and few obvious ones were missing.

Evernote took that opportunity and announced it’s releasing the Evernote app for Apple Watch in near future. The Evernote app for Apple Watch will complement the one on the iPhone in way that the user can dictate notes, set reminders, check off items from existing notes, and even check the recent content. Apple updates MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro with faster hardware

Along with the spanking new MacBook, Apple also updated the hardware on the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro with Retina display, which are now much better for the same price.

The MacBook Air gets a new fifth generation (Broadwell) Intel Core i5 5250U processor with dual core 1.6GHz CPU (Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) and HD 6000 on-board graphics. You can also configure it with an Intel Core i7 5650U with dual core 2.2GHz CPU (Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) and the same HD 6000 graphics. There is also Thunderbolt 2, with twice the bandwidth of up to 20Gbps up and down simultaneously. These changes are available are common to both the 11-inch and 13-inch, but the 13-inch model also gets 2x faster flash storage. Read more »

Now that the Apple Store is back after the company’s event is over, we can take a detailed look at the Watch Edition pricing. The most expensive of them cost $17,000 and are the 38mm 18k Yellow gold case with bright red modern buckle and 38mm 18k Rose gold + rose gray modern buckle.

Apple’s all-metal, fanless MacBook 12″ is official, packs Retina Display and a single USB-C port

Apple has just announced the new 12″ MacBook. The company has managed to make the notebook even thinner than the MacBook Air measuring just 13.1mm at its thinnest point.

The 12″ Retina display features a 2304 x 1440 pixel resolution. The new MacBook weighs just 907 grams (2lbs), is all-metal and because of its thinness has been stripped of most of its ports. There’s now just one USB-C port on the left for both charging and connectivity and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right. Read more »

Apple ResearchKit transforms the iPhone into the ultimate research tool

Apple’s “Spring Forward” event had a lot to offer users. A big portion of the presentation was devoted to a new Apple platform, dubbed ResearchKit. It aims to bring advanced technology to the hands of researchers, medical personnel and end users to simplify the way we track and care for our health. It also does much more, like diagnosis and even remote consultations.

ResearchKit is a new framework, which enabled developers to easily employ all of the iPhone’s sensors in a way, specifically tailored to battling diseases and delivering health services. It can aggregate data from various fitness applications and help them stay interconnected. When granted permission, the platform will use user data, like weight, blood pressure, glucose levels and asthma inhaler use, measured by the phone or third-party apps, couples that with live sensor data from accelerometer, microphone, gyroscope and GPS sensors and creates a full picture of the user’s health status. Furthermore, the platform is entirely open source so that everybody can easily get on board and build applications for a good cause. Read more »

Apple TV with a new slashed price of $69 and a new HBO Now streaming service

Apple’s “Spring Forward” event is still ongoing and it seems it will be full of announcements. The presentation kicked off with some interesting news on Apple TV and TV fans altogether. Apple’s own TV box will now retail for $69 instead of its $99 price tag.

Watching your favorite TV shows on Apple devices will also become significantly easier, well your favorite HBO shows, that is, thanks to HBO Now. The TV network’s new application will offer streaming shows exclusively on Apple devices. To use the new service you have to be in the US and on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV, with broadband connection. This will set you back $14.99 a month, which is about what an HBO GO subscription currently costs, but still nearly twice as much as paying for a Netflix account. HBO now will premiere this April. 700 million Apple iPhones sold, enjoys 49% year-over-year growth

At its “Spring forward” event today, Apple boasted it sold its 700 millionth iPhone smartphone. In fact, according to Tim Cook, iPhone sales are surpassing global smartphone sales rate on a year-over-year basis.

iPhones are growing 49% year-over-year, while the rest of the industry does so at 26%. According to analyst company KGI, Apple sold over 73 million iPhone 6 units just last quarter. Read more »
