Update to YouTube for Android brings new features dressed in new UI

Google released a major update to its YouTube app for Android. The new version brings new features, dressed in a brand new, even more user-friendly UI.

The most notable new feature of the redesigned YouTube app is a multi-window feature. It allows users to have play their video in a small window while browsing the endless amount of available content. The trick can be activated via a sliding gesture.

The rest of the changes include repositioned history, playlists, favorite videos, and uploads to the top of the menu, thus allowing easier access to them. Users also have the ability to search for playlists. To top things off, there’s a brand new app icon.

Google will roll out the redesigned YouTube for Android in stages. Some users have already reported that they have managed to receive the update to the app.
