TomTom and CoPilot for iPhone get major updates

Good news fellas – two of the most popular navigation apps for iPhone just got updated. The TomTom app goes in version 1.3 adding Google Local Search and real-time traffic support, while CoPilot adds Facebook integration and adjustable volume settings.

Unfortunately there is also some bad news for the TomTom users – the real-time traffic information will set you back an extra 20 bucks over the price you already paid for the navigation. Yes, it’s nasty but if you want that feature and you’re already bound to TomTom – there is hardly much choice. The rest of the update is free – you now have Google Local Search, music fading effects, latest map updates, automatic day/night mode switching and support for adding locations from other apps.

The CoPilot update also includes free local search and the latest map updates (USA & Canada), along with Facebook integration, Lane Assist & ClearTurn for better guidance over complex map intersections and the long awaited volume adjustments.

You can download the updates via the AppStore on straight from your iPhone right now.
