The Archos 80 G9 Honeycomb tablet coming at the end of this month, the 101 G9 delayed to October

If you have been waiting for the two latest Archos G9 slates to hit the shelves so you can finally jump on Honeycomb bandwagon, we are afraid we have some bad news for you. The French manufacturer confirmed that only the Archos 80 G9 will be meeting its promised September release schedule for the Archos 80 G9, while the Archos 101 G9 has been delayed to October.

The TI OMAP4-based 8″ Archos 80 G9 and 0.1″ Archos 101 G9 prices will be starting at $299 and $399, respectively and they will both have HDD versions for those in need of high storage capacities.

The 8-incher will have three different versions – the cheapest of them ($299) will come with 1GHz dual-core CPU and 8GB of flash storage and it will actually be the only one on sale this month.

The other two versions of the Archos 80 G9 (16GB SSD, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, $329 and 250GB HDD, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, $369) will appear in October, along with the two version of the Archos 101 G9. Those are looking to be much better deals than the bare-bone version, so they are probably worth the wait, though.

The Archos 101 G9 wil come in either 16GB SSD or 250GB HDD flavor and will feature one of those sweet 1.5GHz dual-core CPUs. Priced at $399 (SSD) and $469 (HDD) it’s looking like a pretty hot deal. There’s no other Honeycomb tablet on the market to give you similar processing power and we doubt things will change in the next month.

Now let’s just hope that the will be no more delays.
