Tag Heuer launches the Meridiist GMT Exclusive Edition – 7 models for 7 major cities

Tag Heuer have updated their Meridiist line with the GMT Exclusive Edition. There are seven versions, each at a different GMT offset marking a big city around the world. Each city gets a distinctive style of Meridiist.

If you have cash to burn (or you’re just curious), here are the seven Meridiist GMT models.

Starting at the ground zero for time zones is the GMT: London model. It uses 316L stainless steel with grey alligator skin and was inspired by the Gherkin Tower.

An hour ahead is the GMT +1: Paris. The burgundy Teju is a homage to the red Burgundy wines. It uses 316L stainless steel body too.

Further east is GMT +3: Moscow. With red lizard skin over black 316L stainless steel with PVD finish, it symbolizes the Red Square.

To southeast lies the GMT +4: Dubai model – with camel-toned alligator skin and stainless steel body represent the desert sands and the advanced architecture that has sprung from it.

The GMT +5:30: New Delhi model uses black stainless steel (with PVD finish) and emerald green Teju (emerald green symbolizes abundant joy, faith and fertility).

The GMT +8: Shanghai is the most eastward model with ocean blue Teju to represent the city whose name literally means Upper Sea.

GMT -5: New York is the only model west of the Greenwich meridian. It is marked by the glamour of the black calfskin leather with glittery finish.

All these models have “GMT” and “Special Edition” engraved on the rear plate. They have the GMT function too that helps jetsetters automatically keep track of two time zones – home and where they are right now.

The Tag Heuer Meridiist GMT Exclusive Edition should already be available in boutiques – good to know if you have €4000+ to blow on a phone.
