The rumored large-screen iPad might launch with optional stylus

According to the popular KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple’s rumored 12.9” iPad will launch with a touchscreen stylus. The latter is said to be an optional accessory for the upcoming slate.

The stylus will aim to make the user experience on the large-screen Apple slate better. Such an accessory will appeal to both creative personalities and enterprise users.

Cost is pointed as the main reason why the stylus will be optional for the full-size Apple iPad. The gadget is said to charge via a Lightning connector due to the more expensive implementation of a wireless solution.

Apple filed a patent for a haptic stylus in the distant 2010, it shouldn’t be a surprise if Cupertino launches a tablet with such accessory. It’s worth noting that Microsoft and Samsung have both used the stylus in ads that mock rivaling Apple products.

The previously rumored Apple iPad with 12”+ display is expected to launch at some point in Q2 or Q3 this year.
