NVIDIA posted a demo video showing the tessellation performance of their upcoming monster and first Fermi card – the GTX480. It surely overtakes the HD5870 in this regard, but I don’t know if it will be able to do so in other scenarios.
NVIDIA promise some insane performance with their Fermi-based cards, which should launch “very soon”. Their first real demo shows a real treat when it comes to tessellation performance but little more than that.
While the tessellation supremacy over the ATI’s cards is certainly a good thing, it’s not sure whether the game developers will use that stuff much. The truth will come when the GTX480 is released and people start making benchmarks in games, not just tech demos.
