Microsoft Band update adds exercise feedback to the device

The Microsoft Band got treated to its first major update. The new firmware brings a new feature to the wearable called Guided Workouts.

As the name kindly suggests, Guided Workouts will deliver exercise feedback straight from the Microsoft Band. All users have to do its load load the workouts from the Microsoft Health app to the wearable gadget.

The update also delivers a number of new workouts to the Redmond giant’s health and fitness service. The new exercises focus on strength training.

This is the first of many updates that Microsoft plans for its Band. Users of the device can expect new features and functionality going forward.

Installing the new firmware on the Microsoft Band requires users to update its companion app for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. A prompt to update the device’s firmware will arrive thereafter.
