Man makes Raspberry Pi phone for $150

When the Raspberry Pi was released, hackers and tinkerers around the world rejoiced at all of the wonderful things they would be able to accomplish with the little $40 computer that could.

You can add create a working cell phone to the list of amazing feats that the Raspberry Pi is capable of.

David Hunt was able to turn the Pi, along with a few other additional parts, into a fully functional smartphone (the PiPhone) for about $150.

Now it definitely isn’t a looker, nor is it the most svelte of devices, but it is fully capable of making phone calls, which David demonstrates in the video.

Again, it might not be the most practical of solutions (the Moto G retails for $180 unlocked), it is pretty neat to know that you can create a cell phone out of the tiny computer.
