HTC releases two new commercials showing BlinkFeed

HTC has released two new commercials for the HTC One. Both ads focus on one feature of the phone, and that is the controversial BlinkFeed found in the latest Sense 5.

With these videos HTC is trying to show how you can use the BlinkFeed feature to collaborate all your social network feed in one place. But it won’t be fun without taking a dig at the competition. Except, here the competition itself is doing the digging. HTC basically shows other smartphone users ‘digging’ for content on their phones by literally showing dust falling off from the phones as they swipe on the screen. The result is quite amusing without coming across as unnecessarily offensive and HTC doesn’t target any particular smartphone in the ad.

Interestingly, in the real world, BlinkFeed has gotten a rather lukewarm response from both reviewers and users alike. It remains to be seen if these videos will do anything to change that perception.
