Full-touch Motorola EX300 breaks out the Android mould, runs Qualcomm Brew for a change

The Motorola EX300 based on the Qualcomm Brew platform has just surfaced on the official Russian online store of Motorola. The device has a 2.8″ touchscreen, an integrated GPS receiver and few more goodies and is now available for pre-order.

The Motorola EX300 shows up several months after the not that smart HTC Smart and there aren’t much differences between the two Brew-powered devices. We expected more from the Brew platform but as our HTC Smart review revealed, Qualcomm’s platform turned out a letdown. As a matter of fact, even if Brew-powered devices aren’t exactly feature phones, they aren’t true smartphones either.

The Brew platform put aside, the Motorola EX300 also features a 256K-color QVGA touchscreen measuring 2.8 inches, a built-in GPS receiver and support for HSDPA and Bluetooth (Wi-Fi is missing, though).

The EX300 comes with 90MB of onboard memory (expandable through the microSDHC card slot), a 3 megapixel autofocus sharpshooter and a standard 3.5mm audio jack.

If you happen to like the neat Motorola EX300 design and feature pack and feel like purchasing one you can pre-order it straight away. The thing is priced at good 175 euro, which sounds a bit too much to me considering the meager specs sheet and the unripe Brew platform. But at least we got our answer what touch interface would use the recently leaked Dual SIM Motorola EX128 use.
