Dropbox adds Touch ID support for iOS 8

Dropbox has updated its mobile app for iOS today, and with the new version comes support for Touch ID. Specifically, you can use the fingerprint sensor embedded into Apple’s wares to get access to your Dropbox.

This means no more entering passwords to view the files you have stored in this particular cloud service.

The newly implemented fingerprint authentication only works in iOS 8. Alongside that, Dropbox 3.5 for iOS also brings with it support for the recently released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and their bigger screens, as well as a fix for previewing RTF files on iOS 8.

The new version of Dropbox for iOS is available for free in the iTunes App Store. It requires iOS 7 or later, and it’s compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
