Following the VivoTab 8 Note, Asus also revealed the VivoTab 8 (M81C). The Windows 8.1 tablet features an 8″ IPS display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and an amazingly low under-$200 price tag.
Inside, there’s an Intel Bay Trial Atom Z3745 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM (2GB also available as an option) and 32GB of storage. At the back and front, there are identical 2MP cameras as well as stereo speakers.
The Asus VivoTab 8 weighs 329 grams and measures 8.9mm thick. Its battery is 15.2WHr, whereas VivoTab 8 Note’s is 15.5WHr. Microsoft throws in a 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal and optional accessories include a MagSmart Cover, a Carry Me Cover and a folio cover.
The slate is expected to be priced below $200 and appear on store shelves before the end of this year.
