Angry Birds hitting Facebook on February 14

This Valentine’s day may be quite lonely for a lot of people, whose significant others are into Angry Birds. Rovio just confirmed that their immensely popular title is hitting the world’s largest social network on February 14.

Rovio plans to hold a huge launch event in Jakarta, which according to the company is the “global capital of Facebook”. The Facebook version will brings some nice new twists to the gameplay, so it’s definitely one worth checking out.

The Facebook Angry Birds will have higher quality animations than their mobile counterparts and will introduce new power-ups. According Penn Olson those special power ups will either be an earthquake or new, more powerful birds.

Naturally, there will also be some new features that make the Facebook Angry Birds more social. Leaderboards will allow you to measure your skills against those of your friends and the players around the world.

So how about cancelling the reservation at that fancy restaurant and dedicating Valentine’s day to some proper pig slashing?

P.S. Of course, if you are not into Facebook, you can always play the online version within the Chrome web browser or you can download their PC application, but that one doesn’t come free.
