Americans no longer find Apple ads interesting

The latest report from Ace Matrix finds that Americans rate Apple ads lower than they used to in terms of persuasiveness and watchability.

The number one spot was taken by online retail giant Amazon, while Samsung, LG, and Windows Phone have also passed the Cupertino company since last year.

What’s more surprising is the ad budget of the two companies: Apple forked over $575.2 million on ads in 2012, while Amazon spent just a fraction of that at $147.8 million.

The successful Amazon ad campaign focused on the company’s Kindle tablet lineup, which it also prominently displays on their homepage and is a big selling point for the retailer. The new Mayday feature introduced with the latest HDX tablet also helps.

What do you think? Are Apple ads starting to lose their appeal, or is the competition just catching up?
