Amazon slashes Kindle Fire HD and HDX prices for Cyber Monday

If Black Friday has been too much of a hassle for you but you still need a good deal on a tablet, Amazon’s got you covered. It’s now selling its 7″ Kindle Fire HDX and Kindle Fire HD slates at a discounted prices until quantities last.

Both slates have seen a $50 discount – the Fire HD’s 16 GB version is now $119, while the Fire HDX has $50 on all its storage options, the cheapest being $179 for the 16 gig.

The Kindle Fire HD is now a little older – it has a 7″ 1280 x 800 display, dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and Amazon’s Fire OS that’s heavy customized Android and lacks access to the Google Play Store. The HDX is the far superior of the two with an quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset, FullHD 7″ display and Fire OS 3.0 Mojito UI.
