Cinemagram arrives on Android, lets you post short looping videos as GIFs

Cinemagram have released a new Android version of their app, more than a year later after the service was first launched on iOS. The app is free to download and is now available on the Play Store.

For those who don’t know, Cinemagram is a social network where you record short videos, which are then converted to looping GIFs and posted to your account. You can also share these GIFs to other social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

If this sounds a lot like Vine, it’s because it is, except Vine arrived later and more importantly, Vine posts actual videos and not just GIFs, which means they also have audio accompanying the visuals. Unlike Cinemagram, however, Vine is yet to release an app for Android and remains iOS exclusive for now.

Still, if you wanted to get in on some looping short video action on your Android device, then Cinemagram should scratch that itch for a while until Vine comes up with their Android app.
