The Applications store is the heart and soul of every modern smartphone and it’s crucial for Microsoft to get things right it in their upcoming Windows Phone 7 OS. Judging from the video that they showed on their MIX10 event they might just have what it takes to do that.
The uninspiring design of the Windows Mobile 6.5 marketplace got us worried a bit but the second time is obviously a charm for Microsoft. Offering support for one-time credit card payments, carrier billing and ad-supported apps, the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace stands pretty well in terms of features too. And with trial-period apps also supported there’s hardly anything more you could demand. Well… except for several thousands apps to fill it but those should be available in no time. Here’s hoping.
